Kim Topolewski has been a legal assistant for over 20 years, with particular emphasis and experience in the intellectual property field. She first worked as a general legal assistant for small law firms. She learned her craft handling such responsibilities as file and docket management, as well as litigation support including pleading and discovery management.
Kim joined Snell & Wilmer LLP in 2002 and focused on the intellectual property practice. She quickly became proficient in all aspects of IP practice support, including the administration, preparation and e-filing of domestic and PCT documents with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Kim also became skilled in the procurement of foreign patents, trademarks and copyrights through daily interaction with the firm’s foreign associates handling those matters. In this period, Kim’s litigation skills also broadened to include pleading and discovery management in intellectual property litigation.
Kim left Snell & Wilmer in 2010 to join Laura Zeman-Mullen when Laura started her own IP boutique law firm. Kim currently functions as both an intellectual property legal assistant and the office manager for Zeman-Mullen & Ford, LLP.
In her role as intellectual property legal assistant, Kim assists the firm’s attorneys and clients in all aspects of the firm’s practice.
